Statement

Statement (Regarding electrical appliances imported from outside Hong Kong or through parallel imports)

Notice to Consumers in Hong Kong

Pursuant to the Electrical Products (Safety) Regulation enacted under the Electricity Ordinance (Chapter 406 of the Laws of Hong Kong), all household electrical products supplied in Hong Kong are subject to statutory control. Suppliers must obtain a "Certificate of Safety Compliance" for their household electrical products prior to sale, to ensure public safety during use.

Electrical appliances purchased from outside Hong Kong or parallel imported (commonly known as "grey market goods" or "water goods") may not be suitable for use under Hong Kong's electricity supply specifications (such as rated voltage and frequency), and consumers should not purchase or use appliances with two-pin plugs*, as this may pose dangers. Randomly replacing the power plug or long-term use of adapters (universal sockets) may reduce the performance of the electrical appliance, significantly increasing safety risks such as electric leakage or short circuits, and even causing fires.

The Company hereby expressly declares that it shall not bear any warranty, repair, or related liability for faults arising from improper operations such as the use of adapters (universal sockets), unauthorised replacement of power plugs, or purchase of parallel imported electrical appliances. When purchasing Philips household appliances, please ensure to do so through official channels and select products equipped with three-pin plugs compliant with the Hong Kong socket system, to avoid potential risks to the life and property safety of yourself and your family.

*Hong Kong primarily uses Type G three-pin rectangular plugs (BS 1363 standard), with a standard voltage of 220V and frequency of 50Hz. Two-pin plugs lack proper grounding, increasing electrical safety risks.
